Alanya TEKMER Turns One: Future Technologies Are Being Developed in Alanya

Alanya TEKMER (Alanya Technology Development Center), Alanya’s gateway to technology and innovation, celebrated its first anniversary with entrepreneurs, academics and members of the business community. Having started to host 30 technology startups within just one year, the center aims to make Alanya the region’s new-generation technology hub.

A Structure Strengthened by Academic and Strategic Support

Attending the first anniversary program of Alanya TEKMER, which was launched under the leadership of ALKÜ and with the support of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization of Türkiye), the Vice Rectors of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, highlighted the importance of TEKMER for university-industry cooperation in the region. Acting as a bridge that turns academic knowledge into commercial value, TEKMER brings Alanya’s traditional economic strengths together with technology.

Alanya’s New Identity: Technology and Innovation

Alanya TEKMER is more than office space. It also offers a culture of working and producing together. The center, which is becoming one of the main supporters of technology in the TR61 Region (Antalya, Isparta, Burdur), also encourages a "reverse brain drain" in the region through the incubation support, business development opportunities and advice on access to public support programs that it provides to startups.

During the event, the contribution of the entrepreneurship ecosystem to Alanya was summarized as follows:

Since its establishment, Alanya TEKMER has worked to bring out the region’s potential in technology and entrepreneurship and to help innovative ideas become sustainable startups. With a growing structure in software above all, as well as in machinery, energy and biotechnology, it has laid the foundations of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Alanya.

From Software to the Defense Industry: 30 Entrepreneurial Companies

Since it began operating, Alanya TEKMER has focused mainly on software, machinery, energy and biotechnology, and has increased the number of companies it hosts to 30. Companies such as Inspire IT, Armada Bilişim, İklim Global, Bidolumedya, ZKM Mühendislik Teknolojileri, Meticax, Tulpar Yazılım, Ay-Yıldız Savunma ve AR-GE are developing projects for global markets with the modern infrastructure and mentoring support provided by the center.

In the past year, 30 entrepreneurs and companies joined Alanya TEKMER to carry out R&D and innovation activities. These include Inspire IT, Armada Bilişim, İklim Global, Bidolumedya, ZKM Mühendislik Teknolojileri, Meticax, Tulpar Yazılım, Ay-Yıldız Savunma ve AR-GE.

Looking Ahead to the Second Year: A Technology Bridge from Alanya to the World

After a successful first year, Alanya TEKMER is stepping up its work in its second year under the principle of "from local to global". In the new period, the center has set the following priorities:

• International Cooperation: expanding networks that connect entrepreneurs not only with the Turkish market but also with global investor groups,
• Sector Focus: launching vertical acceleration programs in "Tourism Technologies" and "Smart Agriculture", areas suited to Alanya’s potential, in addition to the defense industry and software,
• A Center for Digital Nomads: making Alanya an attractive location (Digital Nomad Hub) for technology professionals from around the world and adding qualified value to the city’s economy.

In its second year, Alanya TEKMER will continue to be not just an incubation center but a “success factory” where ideas become products and products become economic value.
